We're kicking off the Fall 2018 Fight Club season, with seasoned Guest Producer: SONYA GAY BOURN

Sonya is a Fight Club stalwart - for which we are ever grateful, as she is an incredibly busy lady!  Sonya is a great supporter on Fight Club, and VO talent in general, and will give you her best advice to be your best for TV Narration.  She has a great ear, and will teach you how to listen for the nuances that will get your audition noticed.  She's even hired Fight Club talent in the past - though of course we can never promise that as an outcome.

Sonya Gay Bourn began her entertainment career as a stand-up comic, on the road for 5 years, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a writing career.  She began writing for ABC’s hit Grace Under Fire and segued in to punching up material for existing shows, and network pilots produced by Carsey-Werner-Mandabach.  Her own half hour pilots include Mo's House, co-written with Grammy winning rapper Kool Mo Dee. 

Bourn left sitcoms to pursue traditional documentary filmmaking.  Her tenure with an Academy Award Winning documentarian led her to directing and producing “geeky” reality programs for The History Channel, Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Science Channel, Travel Channel, The Africa Channel, FOX, and many others.  Bourn is known as an international specialist, producing and directing in the US, and literally, all around the world.  Because of her abilities to guide a show from prep through post, Bourn is often called upon to ‘fix’, ‘revamp’, or ‘rescue’ shows which are straying from their original mandate.  She constantly works to revitalize the ‘reality’ genre - using VO in innovative ways.

While traversing the highways, biways, and hemispheres of the world, Bourn continued writing, and began to develop reality concepts built around extraordinary characters and sub-cultures that caught her eye. Bourn has worked with TLC, Discovery, SyFy, Travel Channel, A&E, and a variety of production companies.  Current development projects include:  Boombox Rebellion, Caravan of GLAM, The Apocalypse Club, MHU, Hard Target, and Plan Z.

Bourn recently set up the rom-com Happy Wife Happy Life, is completing her first altered history novel, and prepping for a reading of her first play.  She still performs stand-up comedy whenever possible in the showcase clubs of LA.
