We all know commercials is where the money is in VO - and there are loads of auditions in our in-boxes: but how do you make sure YOU’RE the one at the top of the pile - that YOU are the one that get’s sent to the agency?
Come work with William Mericle, to find out what he listens for - what he hires - in Commercial VO! He’s an incredibly experienced Creative, and knows the latest trends.
William (Bill) has served as a Creative Director at Leo Burnett, Hal Riney & Partners, founded his own successful advertising agency (affiliated with RPA/Santa Monica) and -- most recently -- served as ECD of Havas Chicago. Along the way he’s created award-winning work for brands like Seven Up, Subway, Bud Light, Kellogg’s, Potbelly, Sprint, John Deere, Cracker Barrel and Buddy Bills Bait Barn in Bloomington, Indiana (who for the cost of a few cases of beer, quadrupled their nightcrawler sales with his radio campaign).
In addition to his work in advertising, Bill is part of an accomplished, Chicago-based screenwriting team. Their first script, Away in a Manger, got them into some interesting meetings with the late John Hughes and a guy who, after making a fortune in porn, wanted to make a Christmas movie. On the strength of their second script, they were signed by Jeff Robinov and sold scripts, did work for hire with Disney, New Americana Entertainment, James Productions, PizzleCo Pictures, Cappella Films, World Entertainment and Giant Pictures. They co-directed a few short films and music videos, and currently have a script in development with Fred and Sandy Roos, but rest assured, they are not holding their breath.
